Counselling

My approach to individual counselling is that one size does not fit all and there is no "right way" to do counselling. We are unique beings that require individualized approaches that are tailored to our needs. Taking a holistic approach, we will work together to explore, understand, and support you as a whole being.

My aim is to create a safe healing space where we can work to understand your unique life experiences and how they may be affecting you. Working collaboratively, we will dive deeper to gain insight and develop solutions for the challenges that you're facing. Exploring difficult thoughts and feelings, while also integrating mindfulness and self-compassion can increase clarity and foster growth. Identifying goals will help guide our work as we move towards healing, and better understanding and connecting with our authentic selves. Whatever your experiences or struggles may be, they are valid and will be honoured and respected in our work together.

My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, understanding, and nonjudgmental. Initially, we will focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship—one based on trust and safety. Research has shown that a solid therapeutic relationship is key to successful outcomes and positive change. With this foundation, we can begin to explore your life experiences and the struggles you're facing, delving deeper into their impact and what you would like to see shift. We may explore the root of these struggles, and the patterns and strategies that are no longer serving you. This might involve identifying negative core beliefs that influence your feelings and behaviours, keeping you stuck in unhealthy cycles. We will draw upon your inherent strengths and internal resources, integrating self-compassion and self-care practices to facilitate movement in a positive direction. Together, we will work towards creating change, achieving your desired outcome, and cultivating a rich and meaningful life.

Located in Mount Pleasant at 3223 Main Street. Please note there are 2 locations for Counselling on Main and we are located within Mount Pleasant Massage Therapy. I offer in-person and virtual sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and additional virtual sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Parking: There is pay parking in front and along Main Street or free parking along Quebec Street and East 17th Ave or Quebec Street and East 16th Ave.
